Samuel McClure married on October 25, 1814 in Bath County, Kentucky to Jane Hendricks, daughter of Peter and Keron-happuch (Noe) Hendricks, born March 15, 1797 in Montgomery County, Kentucky. The McClures lived in Owingsville Township of Bath County after their marriage, near the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, of which they were members. This church was located on top of a rather steep hill in western Bath County. It burned in 1920 and is now a ruin as is the cemetery, which was located directly behind it.

When she died, Jane (Hendricks) McClure was one of the first people to be buried in the Mt. Olivet Church Cemetery.
