Mrs. Edith M. Reed, 91, a resident of Sunset Home, formerly of 1468 Vermont, died at 12:37 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 28, 1987) in St. Mary Hospital.
Mrs. Reed was born Sept. 1, 1895, in Columbus, a daughter of Phillip E. and Alice Kelly Amen. In 1919, she married Robert C. Reed in Quincy. He died in 1952. Mrs. Reed was a graduate of Quincy High School and Gem City Business College. She had attended St. Peter Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society, and for many years she was a volunteer at St. Mary Hospital.
Surviving are three sons, Dr. Janes R. Reed, Dr. Thomas R. Reed and Daniel L. Reed, all of Quincy; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Jeanne) Henderson of Lakewood, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church by the Rev. Roy Bauer. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, with a wake service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
