Sophia married first Mr. William Tesch who passed away in 1915 of complications of appendicitis. Their six children were left to her care.
In 1920, she married second Mr. Johann August Wilhelm "John" Mesner, a widower with eleven children, with whom she had four children. He died in 1952 and is buried with his first wife, Engeline.
She died in 1970 and was buried at Saint John cemetery where she shares a headstone with her first husband, William Tesch.
