William's parents were Thomas O. Roberson, Jr. & Rebecca Clecker. He married Mary Elizabeth Burton Nov. 4, 1852 in Coosa Co, AL. William fought for the Confederacy. Pvt.,Co.B, 2nd Batt, Hillards Legion, Alabama. But he did not believe in slavery. He was severely wounded. Rumor has it that he was shot in the mouth and forever after wore a beard. He was father to Mary Adeline, George Brewer, Bessie Alice, James H, Miranda, Martha Ella, Sanford, John Clint and Ida Francis. Sometime in the 1880's he brought his family by wagon train to Arkansas, where he lived until his death.
