Thomas and Rebecca Roberson are parents of the above Matilda Roberson Vardaman. She married Porter Ratcliffe Vardaman Oct. 25, 1829 in Bibb Co., AL.

Four of Thomas and Rebecca Roberson's children married four Vardamans. Two brothers and two sisters Robersons married two brothers and two sister Vardamans.

Porter was attorney for Matilda's mother in securing a widow's pension for Thomas Jr.'s service in the War of 1812. Family legend says that Porter followed the Roberson's to AL to be with Matilda.
