Washington Bennett Roberson was the son of Thomas & Rebecca Cleakler Roberson. He married Rachel Vining Vardaman in March 1833 in Fayetteville, Talladega Co., AL.

They had twelve known children: John William b. Apr. 22, 1834, Melanie Ann b. Oct. 10, 1935, Pauline b. about 1837, Poliseco "Perlina" b. May 14, 1837, Rutha Ann b. Sep. 7, 1841, Thomas William b. Dec. 10, 1843, Susin Caroline b. Mar. 14, 1846, Sarah Elizabeth b. 1848, Elizabeth Jane b. 1850, Francis Joseph b. Jul. 6, 1850, Jefferson Electius Thompson b. Feb. 6, 1853, and George Washington b. Apr. 5, 1855

Two of these children have markers in this cemetery (Rutha Ann & Jefferson E.T.) and four more are believed to be buried without markers as they died young (John William, Pauline, Francis Joseph and George Washington).
