NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Gena Rose "Jake" Simpson, 91, of 26 Rand St., died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at her home.

Born in the Farnham section of Cheshire on June 6, 1921, a daughter of Domenico and Annunziata Bianchi Albertazzi, she attended schools in Cheshire and the former Adams Memorial High School.

Mrs. Simpson was employed at North Adams Regional Hospital from 1970 to 1995. She had earlier worked at the former General Electric in Pittsfield for 18 years.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church and of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

She leaves her sister, Nadia Charron of North Adams, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers, Chesela Magi, Elizabeth Bongini, Alda Roy, Reno Albertazzi and Biagio Albertazzi.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial Mass for Mrs. Simpson will take place Friday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in the Cheshire Cemetery.
