Earnest was born May 8, 1928 in Quincy, Kentucky to the late William and Mary Ellen Fultz Pence.
Adrian graduated valedictorian from Lewis County High School class of 1946. He was a sargent first class in the United States Marine Corps, an engineer at the Atomic Energy Plant in Piketon, He was a life time member of the VFW Post 5438 Monte Lewis Stamm, He was a member of the American Legion Post 23 in Portsmouth, Ohio. Adrian was a Kentucky State Trooper, he owned and managed two service stations, was a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Vanceburg First Baptist Church in Vanceburg, Kentucky.
Adrian enjoyed bluegrass music, gardening, and spending quality time with his beloved dogs Beauty, Duke and Tippy.
He was preceded in death beside his parents, was his wife of 59 years, Charlotte Dean Pence.
2 Sisters- Mae McDonough and Olive Vice
3 Brothers- Lan Pence, Ralph Pence, and Everett Pence.
7 Half-Brothers and Sisters as well.
Survivors include one daughter Julie Jaynell Pence of Vanceburg
2 Sisters-in-law- Faye Allen and Alma Pence
7 Nephews- Bill Tom Stone, Taft Stone, Mike Colder, Timmy Pence, Mike Pence, Mark Pence, and Wilbur Pence
3 Nieces- Carrie Lawson, Sandra Hill, and Jaqulan Alexander
1 Great-Granddaughter, little buddy Keia Stamper
And many other family and friends that will mourn his passing.
Services will be held Thursday October 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vanceburg First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Wilson officiating, entombment will follow at Lewis County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday October 22, 2014 at Gaydos Funeral Home Vanceburg, Kentucky and from 8 a.m. until noon Thursday at Gaydos funeral Home.
