Opal I. Grubb, 79, of Bloomington, died Saturday at her residence. Born March 10, 1922, in Monroe County, she was the daughter of John and Phoebe (Sipes) White. She was retired after 28 years at Indiana University in food service. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her husband, Norval Grubb; five sons, David R. Grubb, Henry Grubb, Lloyd "Buck" Grubb, Mark A. Grubb and Michael A. "Mike" Grubb, all of Bloomington; two daughters, Diana Lake of Bloomington and Nina Newton of Spencer; and one sister, Ephra Abbitt of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Carol Elaine Newton; four sisters, two brothers and four half-brothers.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Bruce Kelly officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may call 3-8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
