STACY WHITE SUCCUMBS TO INJURY FROM FALLING TREE
Internal injuries suffered when a small tree fell on him caused the death of Stacy White, aged 23, southeast of the city, at 4 PM Saturday, six hours after the accident occurred.
He was cutting down trees for fence posts on the place he recently purchased from James Shaw, about seven miles southeast of the city on Knight's Ridge, and was caught under a falling tree. The accident occurred about 10 AM.
It was thought at first that he was not seriously injured as he was able to walk to his house a short distance away after he was hurt. His shoulder was bruised and he also received a slight scalp wound. It developed later, however, that he had received internal injuries.
Mr. White was employed in the shipping department of the Showers Bros. Company and had taken the day off from his work to improve the property to which he had recently moved his family.
He is survived by the widow, a two-year-old son, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. White, two brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services were held this afternoon a two o'clock from the Knight Ridge Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery. The services were in charge of the Rev. John Hays and the Rev. George Deckard. Ritualistic services were given by the degree team of the Modern Woodmen under the direction of Captain Delbert Fultz.
