Ernest W. Yocom Killed In Peoria

Native Of County Is Accident Victim.

Williamsville, Dec. 3.— Ernest W. Yocom, 48, of Pekin, twin brother of Earl Yocom of this city, was accidentally killed at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Pekin.

Mr. Yocom, manager of a Piggly Wiggly store in that city, had closed his store and started to his home and was offered a ride by a delivery boy in his truck during a downpour of rain.

The accident happened two blocks from his home when the truck ran into the rear of a large truck, without lights, parked in the street. Death was almost instant. His companion suffered instant injuries to his head, cuts and bruises.

Mr. Yocom was born on a farm east of Sherman, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Yocom, now deceased. For the last twelve years he has been a resident of Pekin.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, two children, Virginia and Howard, Pekin; three brothers, Earl, Williamsville; Orville, Dawson; Cecil, Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Ford, Springfield, and Mrs. Ada Hussey, Williamsville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Shuecks funeral home in Pekin. Burial will be in Pekin.
