A native of Brook, she was a lifelong resident of this area. In 1923 she was married at Kentland to Walter F. Murfitt, a farmer. He died in 1964.
Mrs. Murfitt attended the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Ray Murfitt of Kentland; one brother, Paul McDonald of Shelby; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Troup of Dyer and Mrs. Eunice Burton of Brook; and two grandsons, David and Douglas. A son, Carl, preceded in death.
Friends may call at Weston-Gerts Funeral Home, Brook, 6-9 p.m. Monday. Service there 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Robert Davis and the Rev. Jack Hartman officiating. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Brook.
