Born Oct. 31, 1899, in Newton County, she was a lifelong resident of the Brook area and a 1918 graduate of Brook High School.
She married Irol D. Burton on Sept. 4, 1924, in Brook. They owned operated Burton's Restaurant in Brook. He died Sept. 26, 1988.
Mrs. Burton was a member of Brook United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Rensselaer Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star since 1944. She was a charter member of both the George Ade Hospital Auxiliary and Washington Township Home Demonstration Club.
Surviving are a son, Richard D. Burton of Oxford, and a brother, Paul McDonald of Shelby.
