HOLLAND PATENT - David Spencer Thomas, 93, a retired farmer, died Friday at his home on Route 365.
He was born in the Town of Floyd Aug 22, 1878, the son of Thomas and Mary Ellen Griffith Thomas, and was graduated from Holland Patent High School
in 1901.
He married the former Edith Webb in 1904 in Holland Patent.
Mr. Thomas taught in area schools for some time and had owned and operated a farm since 1908.
He was a former member of the Holland Patent Fire Department, and for many years was a member of the Holland Patent High School Board, serving as its
treasurer and clerk .
From 1920 to 1955 he was an assessor in the Town of Trenton.
He leaves his wife; a son, Spencer K. Holland Patent; a daughter, Mrs. Linus (Bernice) Clark, New Hartford, three grandsons, and a brother, Gordon Thomas. Westernville.
Burial will be in the Holland Patent Cemetery. Rome Daily Sentinel, Saturday Evening, December 4, 1971
