Wilma F. (Evans) Daniels.
Wilma was born July 22, 1934 in Fort Smith Arkansas. (Interestingly Dillinger and Clyde Barrow was public enemies number one at the time). She was the daughter of Louis and Oval Evans. She was the fourth born of five children. Laura Ellen, Louis James, Marian Elizabeth and Patsy Ruth. She was five years old when her father Louis died shortly after moving to Bakersfield California. They lived in a Government Camp on Edison Hwy. (An area also known as Magunden). It was there that Wilma befriended a resident named Raymond Arvil Markham, who lived in a tent nearby, who would often feed her his homemade chili. That person became Oval's third husband. He had a young son named John Wesley. Ray and Oval went on to have 6 more children. Billie Delores, Bobbie Joyce, Ralph Edward, Russell Wayne, Vivian Leigh (Vicky) and Stephen Ray. Altogether there were 12 children. The family was a very close family. Family get-togethers were very large, and fun.

SIDE NOTE: The photo with the three graves has an interesting story. The grave just above Wilma's belongs to Flay Mahan. He was our next door neighbor for many years. The fence separating our yards was overgrown with Ivy. Flay's wife Gail and my mom cut large decorative holes in the ivy so they could see and talk with each other while gardening. I have often thought of adding a tiny ivy fence above my mom's headstone, but I'm sure it wouldn't stay there long. Maybe one day I'll put one in just to get a photo.
Flay's wife Gail still lives next door tending her garden.
