Local friends will regret to hear of the death of Elmer T. Steil, which occurred at the Mayo Hospital at Rochester, Minnesota, Sunday morning at 4:30. He had infection of the liver. He had been ailing for several months. Funeral services were held at Owatonna, Minnesota, Monday, and at West Bend Wednesday morning. Father McNerney of this city officiated at West Bend in the unavoidable absence of Father Dobbstein, the regular pastor. The interment was in the cemetery at that place.
Elmer T. Steil, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Steil, was born at LaCrosse, Wisconsin, June 20, 1891. His age was 38. He was married July 3, 1912, to Miss Mary Chukker of West Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Steil located at Hope, Minnesota, where Mr. Steil subsequently served as the Rock Island depot agent. He is survived by his widow, three daughters, his mother, Mrs. George J. Steil, one brother, Ray J. of Los Angeles, California, and five sisters-Mrs. F.O. Glanz, Mrs. B.L. Elder and Mrs. Earl Frink, all of Los Angeles, California and Mrs. A.J. Gappa of Graettinger and Mrs. P.L. Godden of this place.
