ALEX ANDREWS

Alexander Andrews was the son of Alexander & Sally Kent Andrews born in Wayne Co KY, coming to IN with the family in the late 1830's. He had about 4 marriages but it is thought Elizabeth Fisher was the mother of his 4 children. He was a member of Co G, 27th Inf of IN Vol and lost a leg at the Battle of Gettysburg July 3, 1865. He was given a veteran's pension, for which his last child, Sarah was beneficiary. His place of death was not given but the date was found in his military records. He was a resident of the community of Koleen, IN. His widow who survived him was Margaret Johnson. Alex's children were a son, Alex III called Zana, who married Della Fordyce, Mollie B who married Thomas Lehman, Julie E who married (?) Lehman and Sarah who married Perlie Chambers.
