Fern Elenor Dixon, 84, Shelbyville, died early today at Major Hospital.

Born Aug. 24, 1915, in Decatur County, she was the daughter of William and Blanche (Dodds) Rutherford. She married Robert D. Dixon, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1981.

Mrs. Dixon was employed for 22 years at TRW Cinch.

Survivors include seven daughters, Dolly Jacobs, Lavern Jacobs, Pauline Jacobs and Barbara Stelle, all of Shelbyville, Shirley Frisco, Indianapolis, Beatice Graham, Lancaster, Ky., and Blanche Gibson, Coatesville; four sons, Thomas Dixon, Spencer, Roscoe Dixon, Shelbyville, and Edmund Dixon and Edmond Dixon, both of Hobbs, N.M.; 80 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, with Captain M. Edwards and Major Sillampa officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
