Walter Calvin Mann was born June 6th, 1891 in Little Bay, Arkansas to David Samuel Mann and Ida Serrette. According to the 1910 Census, Ida had ten children, however, only the name of 4 of his siblings are known: Butler Mann (abt 1893), Ruth Mann (1898), Nettie Mann (1898), and Eva Brown.
On April 1st, 1917, Walter married Agnes Spain. Agnes gave birth to three daughters: Lucille F. Mann (1918), Pansy Mann (abt 1923), and Lois DeWitt Mann (1924). Agnes died giving birth to Lois. Somewhere between Lois' birth and 1929, Walter left his daughters with their maternal grandparents and moved to California where he married Margie Cordelia Clinton. Margie gave birth to three more children: Joyce Marie Mann (1931), David Herman Mann (1932), and Robert Clinton Mann (1938). Margie divorced Walter in the early 1940s, and moved the children to Orland, California.
Very little is known about Walter besides the name of his children and parents. He drown in the Eel River on April 30th, 1955 near McCann, California. According to Robert, he recalls Joyce and David making a trip to bury their father when Robert was in high school.
