Roy Clyde Cheek, 87, of Payette, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Holy Rosary Hospital in Ontario, Ore.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Rosedale Memorial Gardens. Payette, with Pastor Bill Slabaugh officiating. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
Clyde was born June 9. 1910, at Galax, Va., to Mack and Eunice Cockerum Cheek. They moved to Payette, Idaho, in 1911, where he was reared and educated. He married Addalee Jasmer in 1933; they had one son, Clyde worked for the Diversey Corp. in Payette, Seattle, Minneapolis, and San Francisco. Upon the death of Addalee he returned to Payette where he owned and operated Cheek Dairy Supply.
In 1968 he married Gloria T. Batch. They have resided in Payette for 30 years. In 1975 he sold Cheek Dairy Supply and retired to his garden.
Clyde was a wonderful, gentle man who enjoyed life to its fullest.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Payette; his son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Barbara Cheek of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Gene Schroeder of Payette; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, four brothers and one stepson.
