      V. Claire Glover, 77, of Payette, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1994, in a Boise hospital.
      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Payette First Baptist Church. Pastor William Slabaugh of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Arrangements are under direction of the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
      Claire was born April 23, 1917, at Payette, a daughter of Laura Ennice and Mack M. Cheek. She was reared and educated in Payette, and graduated from Payette High School.
      Claire met her husband-to-be at the Weiser municipal swimming pool in 1938. RG moved to Payette in 1939, where they became best friends. World War II interrupted their lives in 1940. She worked at the Golden Rule store, until she was reunited with her best friend when she and RG were married on June 29, 1942, at Reno, Nev.
      As RG was transferred with the military, Claire experienced life in many different states and countries such as California, Florida, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas in the United States, and in France. Germany, and wherever else she and her husband were stationed.
      Claire enjoyed many activities, among them bridge and all sports. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Payette, and a member of the memorial committee. She held offices in the U.S. Air Force Officers' Wives organizations and the Green Garden Gals.
      She returned to Payette in 1967 in anticipation of RG's retirement, which occurred in 1968. She resided in Payette up to the time of her death.
      She is survived by her beloved husband of over 52 years, RG Glover; loving son, Mac Glover of Payette; treasured daughter and her husband, Pamela Glover and Stephen McCollum of Boise; two grandchildren, Daniel and Summer Glover of Payette; brother, Clyde Cheek of Payette; sister, Lillian Schroeder of Payette; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
      Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or Green Garden Gals, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette 83661. Friends may call today from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette.
