Donald E. 'Gene' Hasselbach
October 19, 1932 – December 29, 2006

Donald E. "Gene" Hasselbach, 74, of Green Springs, died 6:30 p.m., December 29, 2006 at St. Francis Nursing Home in Green Springs.

Gene was born October 19, 1932 in Fremont, to the late Donald L. and Irene M. (Emery) Hasselbach. On February 19, 1952, he married Laura J. (Hemminger) Hasselbach in Amherst, OH and she survives.

Other survivors include his children. Gene had 2 brothers, Tom Hasselbach of Clyde and Rodney Hasselbach of Fremont and a sister, Marilyn Genzman. Gene also had 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Gene worked as a a truck driver and was a member of the Fremont Eagles and the Clyde Moose. He was a past volunteer Fireman for Green Springs and a 1950 graduate of Green Springs High School.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Hasselbach Sr.

There will be no funeral services at the time. Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Green Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
