Donald L. Hasselbach
July 8, 1908 – July 27, 2001
Donald L. Hasselbach, 93, recently of Napoleon Road in Fremont and formerly of Gladstone, Mich., died Friday at his daughter’s home.
He was born in Rice Township to Arthur and Clara (Newman) Hasselbach. He married Irene(Emery) in 1930 and she preceded him in death in 1980. On July 31, 1982, he married Loretta (Morand) in Gladstone, Mich. She survives.
He was a self-employed truck driver who worked with Jones Motor in Detroit, Mich., until his retirement in 1965. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol during the 1940s and enjoyed golf and auto racing.
Also surviving are sons Tom and Donald E. of Green Springs and Rod and Dale of Fremont; daughter Marilyn Genzman of Fremont; brothers Lyle and Wayne of Oak Harbor; sisters Margaret Miller of Fremont and Phyllis Haynes of Oak Harbor; five stepdaughters; 16 grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Dale and one grandson.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nopper-Karlovetz Mortuary, Fremont.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the morturary.
Burial: Green Springs Cemetery.
Memorials: Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
