Fittingly, on the first day of Spring, his favorite season, Jim passed away at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born to George William Colgrove and Pearl Van Winkle, the third of six children. After graduating from High School in Minitare, NE, he attended Scottsbluff Junior College on a basketball scholarship, served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Eastern Atlantic States Mission, and attended Brigham Young University, where he met Vaunda. They married August 20, 1977, in Idaho Falls Temple. Jim has a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in whatever capacity to which he was called. In his walk through life, he developed a deep, personal relationship with the Savior. He loved people and touched many lives with his genuine care and concern for others. He was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and loved to share that gift. He had recently retired after 30 years working at Yost Business Systems. Jim was a wonderful husband and father, hardworking employee, and true friend to all he knew. Survivors beside Vaunda included: children Audra (Aaron) Jensen of Shelley, Chelsea (Justin) Johnson of Ammon, Colby Colgrove of Ashburn, VA, Tessa (Page) Wagely of Orem, UT, Austin Colgrove of Pocatello, and Eli Colgrove of Shelley; grandsons Porter Jensen, Kamden, Karson, Oliver and Asher Johnson, and Lincoln and Coleman Wagely; siblings William (Annette) Colgrove of Fort Wayne, IN, and Marje Holliday of Scottsbluff, NE; and also Katie and Dena Colgrove, Caraleen (Herbert) Andrews, Bernice Wing, Alice Anne (Wayne) Christensen, Karen (Robert) Beck, Ferrin (Wanda) Harker, Thelma (Ronald) Womack, Ruth Marie (Terry) Reid, Emily (Ahmad) Paksima, Martha (Craig) Malcom, Mark (Suzanne) Harker and Merritt (Cyndy) Harker. Preceding were parents-in-law Leslie and Lettie Harker, brothers Larry, Gene, and Richard Colgrove, and bother-in-law Marlin Wing. Funeral held March 28 at Taylor Ward Chapel, 1101 E. 1250 North.
