A lifelong resident of Scott County, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gate City and was a former employee of the Scott County School Board. She was also a school bus driver for the handicapped children.
Surviving are eight sisters, Mrs. DONA WHITE and Mrs. CARL A. (FRANKIE) PETERS, both of Weber City, Mrs. BASCOM (MARGARET) PENDLETON, Mrs. HARRY LEE (ELIZABETH) SNODGRASS, Mrs. ERNEST (WANDA) WEBB and Mrs. VENUS BOOTH, all of Kingsport, Mrs. AGNES BELLAMY, Bristol, TN, and Mrs. CHARLES R. (MARY SUE) MOHR, Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, the Rev R. E. McCONNELL, Gate City, and WILLIAM L. McCONNELL, Montrose, NY.
