W.W. McConnell
Gate City, Va. _____(Spl.) _______ Worley W. McConnell, 64, Scott County building contractor and farmer, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Parker White, Clinchport, Va. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dovie Alley McConnell; two sons, Robert Eugene, Gate City; and William Lyle, New York City; nine daughters, Mrs. C.B. Pendleton and Mrs. Fay Wells, Kingsport; Mrs. Parker White, Clinchport; Mrs. Lloyd Bellamy, Bristol, Tenn,; Mrs. Paul Cross, Mrs. Carl Peters, Elizabeth Ann, Zenus and Mary Sue McConnell, Gate City.
He also leaves five brothers, Dewey, Kingsport; E.L., Beecher, R.L., and C.L. McConnell, Gate City; and four sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Hammond, Kingsport; Mrs. Paul Collins, Indianapolis; Mrs. E.M. McConnell and Mrs. Everson Quillen, Gate City.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Monday at his home in the Manville Community, with Rev. C.S. Pendleton, J.W. Atkinson and Rev. Herman Quillen officiating. Burial will be in the Holston View Cemetery.
