MARY J. KAUFMANN (d. 1964)

Mrs. Mary J. Kaufman, 92, who had resided for years with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shemchak, at 1008 N. 15th St., died at the home at 7:05 a.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, and at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. E. A.
Radey will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Kaufman, nee Mary J. Becker, was born Dec. 23, 1871, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank X. and Catherine Remino Becker. The lifelong city resident was married to Joseph Kaufman in 1898 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. He died in July of 1913.
Mrs. Kaufman is survived by a son, Leonard J. Kaufman, of Manitowoc, three daughters, Mrs. Francis X. O’Connor and Mrs. Charles H. Shemchak, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Magnus O. Johnson of Isanti, Minn., a brother, John H. Becker, of Manitowoc, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. by Knights of Columbus.
