Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Catholic
Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. James DeWitt Will officiate and burial will
be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Bertler, nee Clara Hessel, was born August 22, 1885, at Francis
Creek, daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Blimel Hessel. She was
married to William S. Bertler Nov. 27, 1912, at Manitowoc. Her husband
preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1957. Mrs. Bertler was a member of the
Germania Society.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. John (Ruth) Dudley of DesPlaines,
Ill., Gertrude Bertler of Manitowoc, Mrs. Catherine Cieniwski and Mrs.
William (Margaret) Montgomery of Chicago; three sisters, Rose Hessel
of Milwaukee, Mrs. J. W. (Margaret) Muench of Francis Creek and Mrs.
John (Marie) Fenlon of Cooperstown, and four grandchildren, Sharon
and William Dudley, Mary Wilcop and Nancy Thoen. A sister and two
brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
after 3 o’clock this Monday afternoon where a vigil service will be at
7:30 o’clock.
