HENRY N. BASTIANELLI

Henry N. Bastianelli, age 74, of 2425 Dewey St., Manitowoc, passed away on Monday morning, Feb. 2, 2009, after a courageous battle against cancer.

Henry was born on April 29, 1934, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of the late William and Josephine (Eutizi) Bastianelli. He was a very proud veteran of the U.S. Army, 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team, while serving in the Korean War, receiving numerous medals for his service to our country. He also participated as a member of the U.S. Army Ski Jumping Team while serving in Japan. On Sept. 24, 1955, he married a wonderful woman, the former Lois K. Czekala, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 1998. Henry then found love again and married the former Carol Meyer at St. Mary Catholic Church on April 27, 2000. Henry was employed with the Mirro Company as a truck driver for many years. He also enjoyed his time while working as a forest ranger for Point Beach State Park in Two Rivers. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi, AMVETS Post 99 and the DAV.

Survivors include his wife: Carol Bastianelli, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Terri and Terry Stout, Manitowoc; five stepchildren: Kent Meyer; Mike Meyer; Lenny Meyer; Linda and Dennis Emond; and Mary Jo and Butch Schneider; three grandchildren: Alyssa Bastianelli;
Adrienne Bastianelli; and Mandy Stout, all of Manitowoc; 11 step-grandchildren: Zach, Brennan, Ashley, Tabitha, Jacob, Philip, Raeana, Alissa, Brianna, Kevin and Amy; two sisters: Catherine Soucy; and Marian Duby, Manitowoc; and three brothers-in-law: Chick Czekala and his wife, Marge, Manitowoc, Junior Czekala and his wife, Margaret, Manitowoc, and Zeke Czekala and his wife, Gen, Manitowoc. Henry was also preceded in death by his son: William, on Jan. 11, 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi on 21st and Marshall. Officiating at the Mass of Christian
Burial will be the Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski, OFM, with entombment to follow at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum, where military rites will be accorded by AMVETS Post 99.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center is assisting the family
with funeral arrangements.
