Katherine [her grave inscription reads Catherine] R. Soucy, age 90, a Manitowoc resident, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc. She was born on June 11, 1925 in Iron Mountain, MI., daughter of the late William and Josephine (Eutizi) Bastianelli. On May 15, 1943 she married Roland J. Soucy at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2005. Katherine was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and was also a member of the Submarine Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Whitetail Estates.Survivors include her three children: Carol & Ronald Sickinger, Cato, Rita & David Williams, Minnesota, William & June Soucy, South Carolina; five grandchildren: Clair and her husband Howard, Nicholas and his wife Anna, Stacy and her husband Kelly, Lindy and her husband Jeff, Blake and his wife Bre; six great grandchildren: Joseph Drews, Miller, Maria & Louise Williams, Norah and Sam Mayerl and a sister: Marian Duby, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Henry & Carol Bastianelli and a brother-in-law: Clayton Duby.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Avenue) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Mike Warden with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
