Mrs. Taylor died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 22, 1910, in Ongo, Mo., the daughter of William Silas and Maggie Ann (Nelson) Adams. She grew up in Augusta and graduated from high school there. She moved to Lawrence in 1995.
She earned a doctorate in English literature from Indiana University, and was a professor of English literature at Central Missouri State University until her retirement in 1975.
She married Robert C. Taylor. He died May 22, 1976.
