Maggie Ann (Nelson) Adams, daughter of William and Myra Nelson, was
born in Christian County, Missouri, on April 2,1884 .and passed from this life
on January 18, 1973 at the age of 88 years, at the Augusta Medical Complex,
Augusta, Kansas. She had been a resident of Augusta for over 50 years, and
lived at 1018 State Street in Augusta. She was preceded in death by her
husband, W. S. Adams in 1965. Left to mourn her passing are three daughters:
Mrs. Occa Trebbe of Wichita, Kansas Mrs.
Velma Taylor· of Warrensburg, Missouri and Mrs. Vivian Anderson of Nashville,
Tenn.; one son, Melvin Adams of Lawrence, Kansas. She also leaves seven
grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and other
relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 20,
1973 at 10 o'clock from the Dunsford Funeral Home. Rev. Vernon V. White, pastor
of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Soloist was Merrill Womack, singing
"The Old Rugged Cross" and "Asleep In Jesus''. Casketbearers were Oscar
Applegate, Sherman Perry, Vernon McDuffee, Calvin Applegate, Kenneth Pippin and
Lester Thirsk. Interment was made in the Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, Kansas.
