Nancy (nee Sparks) Briscoe was the daughter of Aaron Sparks and wife, Amanda (nee Johnson) Sparks. Nancy was married to Horan Briscoe.

Nancy was brought into Limestone County in 1864 by the slave holder Capt. Robert S. Barber who fought in the Confederate Army during the U.S. Civil War.

Horan and Nancy were the parents of eleven (11) children: Elmary, Beulah, Frank, Will, Ned, Lela, Jim, Pearl, Ezekiel (Lick), Jerry (Bick) and Benjamin.
