Grace Vera Choate passed away May 7, 2015 in Oklahoma City. She was born January 19, 1926, in Gracemont, OK to Ulyless and Etta Sands (Leathers). Grace enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening in her vegetable and flower gardens. She was an avid quilter who made quilts for all of her children because she loved her family so much. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Buster Sands and Wayne Sands; and sister, Joyce Marie Genzler. Survivors include her husband of 73 years, James Choate; children, Bill Choate and wife Teresa, Gary Choate, Donny Choate and wife Patricia, and Grace LaVerne Martin and husband Phillip; sister, Jewel Dean Apple; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members. Grace will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A viewing will be held Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
