Robert W. Kunsman, 80, of Williams Township, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, in his home.
Born: April 21, 1923, in Hellertown, he was a son of the late Calvin and Mary Ernst Kunsman.
Personal: His wife, the former, Elsie Mae Werkheiser, died on Jan. 12, 1996.
Robert retired in 1988 from Wilson Area School District, where he was a custodian at Williams Township Elementary School. Prior to that, he had worked for the former Northampton Pants in Easton.
He was a 1943 graduate of Hellertown High School, having attended the Lutz one room schoolhouse on Apple Butter Road.
Mr. Kunsman enjoyed family gatherings, bird watching and country music. He spent most of his after work hours in his truck garden.
Robert served in the Army during World War II.
Memberships: He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Williams Township.
Survivors: two sons, Robert G., and his wife, Deborah, of Easton and Bradley J., and his wife, Wanda, of Wind Gap; a daughter, Patricia L. Osmun of Easton; a brother, James of Bethlehem; two sisters, Flora Rieger of Bethlehem and Dorothy Kale of Riegelsville; six grandchildren, Lori Frankenfield, Julie Osmun, Suzanne Whitmore and JoAnn, Kimberly and Bradley J. Kunsman; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by five brothers, Calvin, Stanley, Paul, William and Edward, and three sisters, Elsie Frickert, Annie Yeakel and Helen Warner.
Services: Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the church, 2745 Morgan Hill Road, Williams Township, under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton. Call from 10:30 a.m. to time of services Friday in the church. Burial will be in St. John's Union Cemetery.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the church, Easton, PA 18042.
