Walter C. Rockwell, 90, of Waynesburg R.D. 1, (formerly of Morrisville) died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 1979, at the Greene County Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
He was born July 12, 1888, in Monongalia County, West Virginia, a son of the late Joseph and Sarah Huffman Rockwell.
He had spent all his life in the Waynesburg area and was affiliated with the Fairall United Methodist Church.. He had worked as a rig building contractor and was a retired employee of the Carnegie Gas Company.
His wife, Anna Myrtle Rockwell, died July 6, 1976.
He is survived by a son, Edmund F. Rockwell of Waynesburg; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Phillips of Oakland, Maryland, and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters and three brothers are deceased.
