MAHAFFEY -- Joseph S. Bennett, 87, for most of his life a resident of Bell Township, died in the Clearfield Hospital Saturday followinga long illness.
He was born in Indiana County on July 4, 1878, the son of William and Katherine (Adams) Bennett.
He is survived by a son, Boyd, of Indiana, and a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Blanche) McCracken of Mahaffey R.D. 2 in addition to his wife, the former Emma Stagner of Mahaffey R.D. 1.
Other survivors include four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and three sisters: Mrs. James (Sarah) Sunderland, Mahaffey R.D. 1; Mrs. Emma Guyher [sic = Guiher], Indiana; and Mrs. Harry (Minnie) Sunderland, Curwensville.
Funeral services will be held in the T.G. McCracken Funeral Home at Mahaffey tomorrow at 2 p.m. Services will be in charge of Jack Hoyt. Interment will be in the New Washington Cemetery.
Friends may call in the funeral home until time of services.
