"Funeral services for Linwood N. Scramlin were held from his late home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Cuyler W. Bacheldor, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. George Carpenter of Springfield Center. Burial was made in the Cherry Valley cemetery. The services at the grave were in charge of Cherry Valley lodge, I. O. O. F., with Earl Alpaugh acting as noble grand and Dorr Webb as chaplain. Linwood N. Scramlin died suddenly Thursday evening of last week at his home in the town of Cherry Valley. He had been at work as usual all day. At supper he complained of not feeling well and at 8:30 he passed away. Mr. Scramlin was born in the town of Roseboom April 7, 1866, the son of Adam and Philema Horning Scramlin. For thirty-six years he had been a prosperous farmer in the town of Cherry Valley. He had been a member of Cherry Valley Lodge, I. O. O. F., for forty-one years and was a past Noble Grand of that Lodge. He was also a member of Cherry Valley Rebeckah Lodge. He was well known and highly respected throughout this section and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife, the former Jessie Wilson; one daughter, Miss Florence; one son, Louis, both at home; one sister, Miss Mary Scramlin of Roseboom, and one brother, Herbert of Cherry Valley, all of whom have the sincere sympathy of the community."
