Doris Lucille Agee Hawley, 86, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2015 with her family by her side.

She was one of eleven children born in Floyd County, Va. on December 3, 1928.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James M. Hawley (Jimmy); and grandson, Adam Hawley.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, James S. Hawley 'Steve" (wife, Angela) and Teresa Kelly (husband, Paul). She is also survived by her granddaughters, Shannon Hawley Turner (husband, Brian), Cameron Kelly, and Kendall Kelly. Additionally, she will be missed by her four great-grandchildren, Alex Hawley, Ethan Deskins, Kayla Turner, and Kobe Turner, sisters, Madeline Bonham, Ruby Dyer and brother, Floyd Agee Jr.Doris (MeMaw) derived her greatest pleasure in life from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She reveled in teaching them the lost art of making homemade biscuits and "putting up" homemade jellies. She was particularly fond of retelling wonderful stories from her childhood and reminding us of the rich love their family shared even though they came from the sticks.

She would wish to offer special thank you to her loving caregivers, Shannon Turner, Brenda Ringley, Pam Cassel, Joan Wasserott and Lillian Dudley. Additionally, she greatly appreciated the staff at Raleigh Court Wellness Center and Lewis Gale MICU for their incredible love and support this past year.She will be sorely missed by all she knew.

In lieu of flowers, she loved supporting St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends between 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Oakey's North Chapel Funeral Home. The service will be held at the same location on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at noon and officiated by Elder Larry Hollingsworth. The service will conclude at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens where she will join her husband in rest.
