Mr. Thomas G. Covington, one of Graves Co.'s oldest citizens, died Monday at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. M. C. Hargrove in Fulton, where he had gone on a visit about a month ago. His death was caused by old age superinduced by bowel trouble. Body was brought here yesterday afternoon on the 2pm train. Buried at Robbins graveyard, south of town, near where the deceased formerly lived. Member of the church at Sharon, four miles south of town. He was born in Rutherford Co. Tenn. 1-29-1826, and at the time of his death, 71Y 9M 16Ds. Came to Christian Co. Ky. when he was 24 years of age and in 1863 to this county, where he has resided ever since. Left nine children, five sons and four daughters. The wife of the deceased was killed a few years ago by being thrown from a buggy by a run-a-way horse.
