Charles G. [Grundy] Delaney, 60, of Mt. Morris Star Route, Morrisville, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday November 21, 1970, enroute to Greene County Memorial Hospital. He died of an apparent heart attack.
He had not been in the best of health for several weeks.
Mr. Delaney was born January 5, 1910, at Wadestown, W. Va., a son of George A. Delaney, of Waynesburg, and the late Ella King Delaney.
Most of his life was spent in the Waynesburg area. He was affiliated with the First Church of the Nazarene and was a veteran of World war II having served with the 110th Infantry, Company K, during the European theatre.
He was also a member of the James Farrell American Legion, Post 330, Waynesburg, and the Waynesburg VFW, Post 4793.
The last several years, he has been a construction worker with the Hatfield Ferry power plant and was a member of Brownsville Local 286.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Antill Morris Delaney; two daughters: Mrs. John [Glenda] Riding, of Aliquippa; and Mrs. Jerome [Bonnie] Seltz, of Berkley, Mich.;
eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; six step-daughters: Mrs. J. C. [Jean] Diegnan and Mrs. Joseph [Judy]De Lair, both of Hollywood, Calif.; Mrs. Robert [Margaret] Sowden, of Jefferson; Mrs. William [Bulah] Patterson, of Freedom, Ohio; Mrs. Chester [Roberta] Bednar, of Eighty Four, and Betty Morris, of Waynesburg; four sisters: Mrs. Wood [Edna] Blair, of Waynesburg; Mrs. William [Edith] Zimmers, of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Mildred Tennant, of Waynesburg, and Mrs. Frank [Katherine] Black, of Waynesburg; three brothers, Hiram Dulaney, of Waynesburg, Alfred Delaney, of Waynesburg, RD 3, and Le Roy Delaney, of Oak Forest, and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, William and a sister, Bertha, are deceased.
Funeral services were held Tuesday with burial in Greene County Memorial Park.
