JANICE MARION PITCHFORD, 66, of Elizabethton TN Carter Co, died Tues, 12/29/2009, family present, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born 9/28/1943 near the entrance of Enfield Park, Ithaca NY daughter of Harvey and Ellen Teeter; both deceased. [Janice got her middle name from her great grandmother Angeline Doll Teeter Marean who was called Grama Marean by some of her grandchildren; even though she is buried as Angeline Teeter per family preference for heridity purpose, since she outlived 3 husbands, to include her first husband by whom she had children, Frank Teeter who died in 1908 PA.] Janice lived in Triple Cities TN, where she was victim of an empty milk tanker that hit her auto in 1994 from which she never totally recovered and she was wheelchair bound for several years. She leaves behind her husband Melvin A (Jesse) Pitchford; daughters, Kathleen Reece (Kevin); Jennifer; and grandaughter, Victoria Nicole Grindstaff. Janice had worked as cashier in TN; also NY having lived Madison Co where married; and she also was a caregiver at a TN local home for the elderly. Five siblings survive her: Ellen of VA, Josephine and Laurie of NY, Clinton of TN, and Edward of NY. Arrangements, Tetrick Funeral Home. Sweet, dear Janice, so verily loved and missed by family and those who knew her. Her ashes are kept by her husband at their home. Note: Per 3/3/2017 Melvin passed away age 77, in TN, b 9/3/1939 NY. Their children and grandaughter survive both of them.
