THOMAS G. BOUSQUET passed away quietly on July 9, 2015 at the age of 80. Tom was born in Houston, TX on October 18, 1934 to Bob and Fe' Bousquet. After attending St. Anne Catholic School and St. Thomas High School, he left for University of Texas for pre-law and his J.D. degree (1958). While at UT, he was an Associate Justice and later Chief Justice of the Student Court, a member of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, a member of Silver Spurs and was elected a Goodfellow. Shortly after graduation from law school, he returned to Houston where he opened his own law office and practiced on his on his own for 56 years. He was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme in 1971. In 1958, he joined the Texas Air National Guard at Ellington Air Force Base as an Airman Basic and was honorably discharged six years later as a Major and the Legal Officer to the 147th Fighter Group (the same path later followed by George W. Bush). During his legal career, he was associated in practice in Houston, Brazoria, and Brenham with numerous other attorneys including Tom Devine, Linda Jackson, Phil Wandel, and Sheryl Jackson. He was elected Secretary and Vice President of the Houston Bar Association; President of the Houston Lawyers Society; Life Fellow of Texas Bar Foundation; Secretary and co-founder of Texas Academy of Legal Malpractice Attorneys; Vice President of Houston Association of Civil Trial Specialists; Executive Governor of Who's Who International; elected a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and founded and served as the first president of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, Order of the Stars & Bars, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Colonial Order of the Crown, the Plantagenet Society, the Mayflower Society, the Order of Magna Carta Barons, Hereditary Order of Descendants of Colonial Governors, The Houston Club, and has been listed in Who's Who in America since 1976 and Av by Martindale Hubble since 1961. He served on the Board and as Director and Secretary of the Jabboury Foundation of Cancer Research for many years.

During his legal career he was an unsuccessful candidate for President of the Houston Bar Association and also for Judge of the 165th Judicial District. At 70 years of age, he was selected as one of Houston's Top Lawyers for (M magazine).

His main hobbies were developing real estate and backing small businesses. He developed seven rural subdivisions including Lynwood Lake Estates in Waller County, Riverview Ranch Estates in Brazoria County, and Deer Creek in Grimes County. He was also active in Washington County developing real estate with his close friend Jim Lee. He was continuously licensed as a real estate broker since 1958.

At the age of 50, he discovered Our Lord Jesus Christ as both savior and friend and accepted Him into his heart. He joined Second Baptist Church in Houston in 1985 and loved his job ushering on Sundays and Wednesdays. He joined First Baptist Church of Brazoria, Texas in January 1996, and First Baptist Brenham, Texas, where he found true Christian friendships. A high point of his life was when he and his son Brant attended "Stand in the Gap," a gathering of over 1.5 million Christian men on the mall in Washington D.C. on October 4, 1997, to ask God's forgiveness on America.

He is survived by his two children Brant (Virginia) Bousquet and Katherine (Michael) Cain, and his four grandchildren Kendall Denise, Robert Brant Jr., Kelsey Lynn, and Paul Thomas; his sister Mrs. Teal Anderson of Bourne, Texas and his brother, John A. Bousquet, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and 11 nieces and nephews and 17 grandnieces and grandnephews who were the apples of his eye. Honorary pallbearers are his numerous friends from Campus Crusade for Christ and International Justice Mission which he supported wholeheartedly for over 20 years, his fellow ushers and Second Baptist in Houston and First Baptist Brazoria and Brenham, and his crew with whom he worked at the Lost Seagull Ranch on Saturdays. Friends are invited to visitation with the family on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the stateroom at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. Funeral service will be on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment to follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
