Mr. MacConnell died Monday afternoon at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac.
He was born June 28, 1914 in Essex County, Lake Placid, N.Y., and attended school there. He married the former Helen Beverly O'Connor Dec. 23, 1933 in Detroit. She died Dec. 29, 1976. He then married Helen Kinney Aug. 11, 1979 in Cadillac.

He moved to Cadillac 38 years ago from Detroit. He was employed with the Cadillac Dairy, Michigan Bakery and Cadillac Candy Company. His last employment, prior to retirement in 1977, was with Mercy Hospital in Cadillac.

He was a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church in Cadillac.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; three children, Patricia (Mrs. Domonic) Mercurio of St. Clair Shores, Noreen (Mrs. Donald "Jim") Gustafson of Cadillac, and Kathleen Balk of Houston, Texas; five step-children, Sandra (Mrs. Cliff) Masten, Linda (Mrs. Al) Bennett and Jack Kinney, all of Cadillac, James Kinney of Tustin, and Larry Kinney of Kalamazoo; 10 grandchildren, one great -grandchild, 11 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
