Achsah Clay, 80, of Clear Creek, died at 10:48 Wednesday at the Bloomington Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1895, in Lawrence County, the daughter of William and Minnie (Bell) Hartsock. She was a member of the Clear Creek Christian Church and had been employed by the Monroe County Community School Corporation until her retirement 14 years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Catherine Mitchell of R. 8, Bloomington; two sons, William L. Clay of 816 Cherokee Dr., and Metallus Clay of Clear Creek; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Jacobs Kelly.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Day Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Richard Hittle presiding. Burial will be at Clear Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9:30 a.m. to time of service Saturday.
