Born December 6, 1914, in Monroe County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Dillie and Achsah (Hartsock) Clay.
She was a member of the Clear Creek Christian Church for nearly 80 years. She was also active in women's Bible study groups and women's service groups.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Georganna and Doug Priest of Bloomington; one brother, William Clay of Bloomington; and two grandsons, Chris Mitchell Priest of Washington, D.C., and Kyle Maynard Priest of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Mitchell, in 1992; one brother, Tal Clay; and one sister, Martha Jacobs Kelly.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Clear Creek Christian Church, with Pastor Glenn Hughes and David Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery.
The family suggests to friends who wish that memorial contributions may be given to the Clear Creek Christian Church Building Fund.
