1880 Census shows that Edward was born in Illinois in 1835. He died in 1898 at 63 years old. Edwards Father and Mother were born in Kentucky. In 1880 Edward was the Father of 3 sons John C., Willis E. and Arthur L., all born in Oregon.
He married Zelphia Mays-Neely also born in Illinois on 19 Sep 1861 in Lane County, Oregon. Zelphia died Jan 23, 1913 at age 71. Her father was born in North Carolina and her Mother born in Tennessee. They lived in Burton Prairie, Coos County, OR. working as Farmers. Which I believe the area is now known as Fairview, near Coquille, Oregon. They were Farmers in a time when life was much harder than it is today.

Edward and much of his family are buried at the Fairview Cemetery, atop a hillside over looking the valley. A beautiful, peaceful and well kept pioneer cemetery.
