She was born to Milton and May Warner on January 24, 198 in Lexington, Michigan
Hazel married Lawrence A. Hand on March 7, 1936 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1992.
Hazel and Lawrence moved to Florida in 1966 prior to his retirement from Chrysler Corporation.
Hazel lived many years in Florida, returning to Marysville after the death of her husband.
Her family in Michigan was very fortunate to have enjoyed her company upon her return to the area.
Hazel enjoyed decorating cakes, bowling, and playing euchre. She also enjoyed working with the ladies of her church in Florida.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. (Thomas) Carolyn Stark, Marysville, Mrs. (Cecil) Diane Bobo of Palatka, FL., and Mrs. (David) Laura Toombs, of Spokane, WA.
Also surviving are her bother Charles Warner, Fort Gratiot, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Joyce Warner of Marysville. She enjoyed ten grandchildren Beck (David) Tomaszewski, Larry Stark, Patricia (Rick) Hefner, Sally Prince, Vern (Tatyana) Shurtz, Matthew (Pam) Toombs, Stephen (Regina) Stark, Michelle (Robert) Berch, Amy (Christopher) Baur, and Shawna (Jim) Brovont. She is also survived by six step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 25 step great grandchildren.
A service in Hazel's memory will take place 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2006 in Marysville United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Thompson, will officiate. Interment will be at a later time in Jacksonville Memorial Gardens, Orange Park, FL.
Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service.
Contributions may be made in Hazel's memory to Marysville United Methodist Church, Marwood Nursing and Rehab "A" wing, or Ross Bible Church.
Cremation arrangements were by Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock St.
