Charles V. Warner Fort Gratiot Charles V. Warner, age 89 of Fort Gratiot went to God's home on June 23, 2012 at the Medilodge of Port Huron after a long illness. He was born June 9, 1923 in Port Huron and was a lifelong area resident. He married Frances Pollina on January 25, 1945. She preceded him in death in 1992. He married Pauline Linert on February 21, 1995 at Lakeport Wesleyan Church. Charles served in the U.S. Army during WWII with Patton's 3rd Army during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Ross Bible Church. Charlie worked for the St. Clair County Road Commission and retired as a Supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, playing cards, camping, and square dancing. Charlie always had a smile, and his greatest joy was to spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Warner; a son, Joseph (Sue) Warner; son-in-law, Robert Francisco; grandchildren, Charles (Margaret) Warner, Lee (Adrian) Francisco, Kerry (Amy) Francisco; step-children, Joe (Mary Lou) Linert, and Carol (Ken) Eastman; and many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Francisco, 1 brother and 3 sisters. A funeral service will take place at 11 AM Wednesday in Ross Bible Church. A graveside committal service will follow in Kinney Cemetery under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street. There will also be visitation on Wednesday at church beginning at 10 AM.
