Evelyn Massmann, the daughter of Henry and Emma Baldwin Grimberg, was born June 1, 1918, in Paullina, Iowa. She attended O'Brien County rural schools. Evelyn was baptized and later confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown and was currently a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina.
On December 3, 1939, she was united in marriage to Harry L. Massmann in Germantown, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Paullina area for many years before retiring in 1975 and moving into Paullina.
Harry passed away on April 3, 1983, in Primghar. Evelyn continued to make her home in Paullina until leaving for medical treatments in Minneapolis several months ago.
She passed away in Minneapolis on Tuesday, May 10, 1988, reaching the age of 69 years, 11 months and 9 days.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Jerry and daughter-in-law, Irma Massmann of Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Walter and sister-in-law, Ida Grimberg of Paullina; one step grandson, Jari; also many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, infant son, her parents, an infant brother, a brother, Ruben and one sister, Elsie.
